Order Creation Example: Creating a Transmission Order

Summary

Users can create Orders in various ways, including via the Scheduler or the Order Grid. This article walks through creating an Order where the Order Class is Transmissions and the Element types include Internal and External Circuits and checking for any scheduling conflicts

Creating an Order in the Scheduler using Click and Drag Functionality

  1. Choose the Internal or External Circuit that you want to book to the new Order
  2. Using ‘Click and Drag’ functionality, hold the SHIFT key, and using the mouse, left-click and hold the location on the Scheduler that you want to place the Order and then drag right for the desired time duration 
  3. Release your mouse to open the Order Class window
  4. Choose the Transmission Order Class
  5. Complete the Order form  
  6. Click Submit and Close to add the Order to the Scheduler

Using the Scheduler New Order Button 

  1. In the Scheduler, click the New Order button, located above the Element search panel
  2. Choose the Transmission Order Class  
  3. Complete the Order form
  4. Choose the Circuit type from the Elements  
  5. Click Submit and Close to add the Order to the Scheduler

Using the Orders Functionality  

  1. Choose Orders from the left-hand navigation menu 
  2. Click the New button located at the top of the Order Grid workspace
  3. Choose the Transmission Order Class  
  4. Complete the Order form
  5. Choose the Circuit type from the Elements  
  6. Click Submit and Close to add the Order to the Scheduler

Checking for and Handling Scheduling Conflicts

When there is a scheduling conflict the Smart Assign panel will show user that an alert is associated with the Booking.
