Summary
Twice a year you may encounter some issues with cloned order durations due to Daylight Savings. This article walks you through what you'll need to consider to minimize disruptions.
Cloned Orders and Daylight Savings
When you cross into Daylight Savings Time (DST) you may notice that some cloned orders will show an order duration that is an hour longer than the orders from prior to DST. This is because an extra hour is added to the order to account for the DST adjustment. So if you had an order that went from 8pm to 4am (8 hour duration) it will change to a 9 hour duration as the time will roll back at 2am. This change will disrupt those orders post DST by extending the duration by an hour. The system does not automatically account for this change.
We recommend splitting any cloned orders into two processes. One process will be to clone orders up until the date that DST comes into effect, and another process to clone the orders for the days after DST comes into effect. As you will not cross DST with any one process, then the clones within each process will have the correct duration.
Unfortunately any orders that are cloned crossing DST will each need to be adjusted manually.
