Summary
This article walks you through two options for adding generic dates (e.g. holidays, regular company events) to your Calendar. The first option is to create a blank Order whereas the second option is to create a specific Order Class for the generic date/s. For the second option we also include steps on how to set up appropriate status transitions for the new Order Class.
Option 1: Creating a Blank Order for a Generic Date
One option for adding a generic date to your Calendar is to make a blank Order that correlates to the desired date, holiday, event, etc. This blank Order can be made from any current or new order Class you may have previously configured.
Once you've created the blank Order, add all Resources to the Order, and then clone the Order for as many years as you would like to record the date. Unfortunately the recurrence option when cloning does not work for annual dates, so you will need to clone each Order one at a time.
Option 2: Creating an Order Class for Generic Dates
The second option for adding a generic date to the ShowMgr Calendar, does not require you to add any Projects or Orders to it.
For this option, you will need to create a different Order Class to facilitate the generic date/s. That way you will not need to book any Elements.
To create a new Order Class, navigate to Admin > Order Admin > Order Classes. For more information see our article: Adding and Modifying Order Classes
Setting the Status Transitions for a Generic Order Class (from Option 2)
Once you have a new Order Class set up, you will need to set up the status transitions for the Order Class.
To manage the Status Transitions for your new Order Class, navigate to Admin > Order Admin > Status Transitions.
Here you will need to set a default status for the Order Class via the Default button and also set which Statuses can be transitioned to. Just drag and drop the appropriate status from the right wing that is displayed.
