Summary
Packages and Bundles are an important feature in ShowMgr as they allow you add groups of Elements to an Order at the same time as opposed to adding each Element individually. This article walks you through the definitions and examples of Packages and Bundles
What is a Package?
Packages are a grouping of Elements. For example, an Edit Suite Package could contain:
- an Edit Suite (Facility)
- a Computer (Asset) equipped with Editing Software (Asset)
- a Resource such as a specific or generic Editor (Resource)
With a single entry, you could add a Package to your Order rather than adding each Element individually. The Package would then carry over (if desired) a "summed" or Package Rate to the Budget.
What is a Bundle?
Bundles are a grouping of Packages.
Within a Bundle, you may have two or more existing packages. For example, a Field Shoot Bundle may contain:
- a FIELD Package
- an EDIT Package
- a TRANSMISSION Package
Similar to Packages, you can add a Bundle with one click rather than trying to find each Element or Package individually. Bundles do NOT contain a sum of rates, however the rates remain at the Package level, and can be revealed (if permitted) via expansion.
Note: Both Packages and Bundles are assembled in your individual ShowMgr instance and cannot be pre-loaded.
